Is a clan right for you

There are so many different types of clans in Clash Royale that the answer to this is simple, it's worth it to be in a clan if you want to be in a clan. That, by itself, is all that is required for some clans, and you can create your own clan with whatever requiremetns you want.

Picking the right clan

Once you've decided you want to join a clan, you need to decide what type of clan you want. The key questions are:

Benefits of joining a clan

Being in a clan is an important part of improving in Clash Royal. It helps you learn and try new things. It helps you improve with your skills. Requesting and donating cards, as well as clan wars, will help improve your cards and level them up.  You get more gold coins and experience in a clan than out of it. Being in a clan as actually an essential part of being really good at the game. If you are in the right clan, it can also be a positive part of your life.

How to get a Promotion

Each clan is different, but for most clans the keys to getting promoted are time, active status, and participation. At Clash Kittens, we spell everything out and have a set, fair, system. Not every clan is the same, but most value loyalty and time in the clan the most. This is because some people are bad actors and try to cause problems. Some people will jump from one clan to another and try to get promoted and kick everyone they can out of the clan. It happens. Some people will go around from clan to clan and ask to be co-leader or something or will create a 2nd account and join clans and ask them to merge and really be just trying to steal players. There are plenty of bad actors, so the one thing you need to understand is that no clan worth being in will promote you where you can kick any of the members they care about. At Clash Kittens, we promote people to elder when they get 1,000 medals, and promotion to co-Leader requires weeks and weeks of participation as well as being responsible for leading up something our clan does. Stuff like working on this website, suggesting card decks for players to use, etc  The thing about clan raiders is they don't actually want to put in work to make clans succeed and we require our leaders to serve our members, not the other way around. So, there is no glory to promotion here, just the ability to serve our fellow members and help out so they can enjoy the game, be part of a community, and improve.  Different clans are different, but, my suggestion for most clans is to be active be yourself, and if they don't like you, you're in the wrong place.

When to leave your clan

Being in a clan should be a positive experience. You should have an idea about what you want from your clan. If you are not getting that, you should either leave or raise the issue with your clan. If you've only been in 1 or 2 clans, you might not know what to expect. Some clans are dead. Some only have a couple active members. Some have horrible leaders who are not learning. If you want to be in a clan that participates in clan wars, where people actively request and donate cards, and where there is some discussion, well, look and see if you are getting that. If not, leave. If you don't want some of those things, leave if the clan does them. Pretty simple.  Usually, when you're not sure about leaving, it's the right things to do. Usually, you want your clan to particiapte more. You want 50 active people and you see almost none. You should leave.

The only hard question is when you have an ideas for what you want in a clan and your clanmates agree, but your clan isn't there yet. In that case, you need to talk with your clan. If you want an active clan with a lot of members, but you have only 5 people and everyone agrees, but it stays at 5 people, that's a problem. In truth, getting from 5 people to 50 takes hours of recruiting and playing a lot of 2v2 games and inviting a lot of people to join who are not right. It's a lot of work. If the people want the results, but are not willing to put in the effort, you should leave. That said, if they are, it's reasonable to test things out for a week or two and see how they go. The important thing, however, is don't wait months. If you want something your clan isn't, you should join a different clan or make your own. The one thing you should expect to see is the clan leaders should have a clear idea of the rules and vision and should be visibly working towards it. If you don't see that, that's a problem.
